HH Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah
Duli Yang Teramat Mulia (DYTM) Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (born 12 December 1990) is the current Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of the Malaysian state of Selangor. Tengku Amir was born on 12 December 1990, as the third child and first son of the then Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Idris Shah.
He attended Wellington College in the United Kingdom and graduated in 2009. Tengku Amir graduated from the University of Leeds in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology. He then underwent a stint in the Malaysian army before enrolling in The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where officers are trained to take on the responsibilities of leading soldiers under their command. He graduated in April 2016.
Tengku Amir is really passionate about youth development and environmental sustainability amongst others. Cycling is one of his favourite sports and fondly follows the Selangor state football team nicknamed The Red Giants.
In 2014, Tengku Amir envisioned a more vibrant youth society in Selangor specifically in Shah Alam and its surrounding areas through various programmes, events and activities. This is where the idea of SAY Community was born to promote a much more engaged and exciting youth community, by youth, for youth.
