On the 15th August 2017, DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj, the ninth and current Sultan of the Malaysian state of Selangor, took a visit to KL Sports City in Bukit Jalil to take a look at the final preparation of the upcoming Kuala Lumpur Sea Games (KL2017) which will be commenced on the 19th of August.
By 9.30 a.m., many VIPs and various media awaited the arrival of HRH Sultan Selangor, as they gathered at the main entrance of the National Stadium. The area abutting the entrance to a building was carpeted in red, making it look like an isle with an entrance arch. Around 10 a.m., the media reporters and photographers, immediately took their place at the side of the isle when HRH Sultan Selangor’s car pulled up in front of the entrance.
When Tuanku Sultan Selangor got down from his vehicle, the cameras started flashing and he was greeted with a warm welcome, as he was ushered into the building to begin with the administrative program. Throughout this entire program, he was accompanied by YBhg Tan Sri Mohammad Salim Fateh Din; Group Managing Director Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB), YB Brigadier General Khairy Bin Jamaludin (Youth and Sports Minister), representative of MRCB’s and and other VVIPs.
At 10.05 a.m., Tuanku Sultan was guided to the third floor to examine the atmosphere inside the stadium. Right after that, he headed to Corporate Suite 12 on the third floor, to attend a short briefing by National Stadium Board (PSM) chief executive officer Azman Fahmi Osman that included the introduction on the project of upgrading KL Sports City, official videos and slides.
When Tuanku Sultan Selangor exited Corporate Suite 12, he was ushered to the balcony, lobby and in front of the huge Kris sculpture along with other VVIPs, to take pictures. Later on, Tuanku Sultan was brought to the Plaza to visit the Skate Park and Outdoor Gym on a buggy ride, where he was given Information on facilities and safety features of the complex by PSM’s Ceo.
Once the tour around the stadium, photography sessions and the briefings were done, Tuanku Sultan Selangor was presented with a delightful feast in a private dining area, together with the VVIPs. Lastly, a gift giving ceremony was held at the Axiata Arena to end the administrative program.
