Y.A.M. Tengku Datin Paduka Setia Zatashah Binti Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah

Tengku Zatashah has international corporate exposure in UK, France, Spain and Malaysia with over 20 years of experience in corporate communications, crisis management, consumer goods, hospitality, education, construction, branding and marketing. Tengku Zatashah started her career as Accounts Executive for renowned advertising agency BDDP in Barcelona, Spain. Her career in corporate communication took off and she spearheaded L’Oreal Group (a Fortune 500 global company) communication policies in sustainable development, Human Resources, media training of Management Committee and was a key member of crisis management for five years. She returned to Malaysia, and was appointed President of Alliance Francaise Kuala Lumpur in 2011 and has helmed the non-profit organisation to develop strategic expansion of satellite classes and has increased awareness of its cultural activities, serving as Chairman of the Board. She was nominated to represent Asia and Malaysia at the Foundation Alliance Francaise Convention 2013 in Paris, celebrating 130 years of Alliance Francaises. In 2011, she successfully opened Malaysia as a new market, creating brand value and brand positioning for an international lighting design consultancy firm with its office Light Cibles Malaysia as its Chairman & CEO, with notable projects such as the Kuala Lumpur Lighting Master Plan, as well as iconic developments such as Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, PJ Sentral Garden City (under the National Key Economic Areas of the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP); Iskandar Johor and more. Since December 2014, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Kim Teck Cheong Holdings Berhad, a public- listed Sabah-based Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) distribution company, one of the largest in East Malaysia with networks in Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan and Brunei. To date, Tengku Zatashah is Royal Patron of Make-A-Wish Malaysia, and Royal Patron of the Selangor Symphony Orchestra.

Tengku Zatashah speaks English, French, Spanish and Bahasa Malaysia fluently and is now learning Italian. She recently graduated from the government’s initiative Women Directorship Programme to serve on boards of public- listed companies. In addition she graduated from Insead Business School, Finance for Executives programme, focused on value based management, analysis of investment decisions, corporate financing and valuation, and mergers and acquisitions. Tengku Zatashah holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Spanish and French from Middlesex University, London. She also holds a Masters in International Relations & Diplomacy from the American Graduate School of Paris. She had also completed a few diplomas including a Diplôme Cours de Civilisations française from Université de la Sorbonne, and a Cambridge Diploma in Teaching English as Foreign Language from British Council, Kuala Lumpur. In 2009, Tengku Zatashah was awarded the Datuk Setia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (ISIS) by Sultan of Selangor.
